In I Corinthians 3: 6 & 9 Paul writes, “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow …. For we are co-workers in God’s service”

During my recent trip to Haiti, I enjoyed seeing the “harvest” of work accomplished

through LeadaChild. Early on, workers came to plant the seed of Good News, working with small gatherings of believers and dedicated leaders. Throughout the years, many volunteers have cultivated the planting through their visits, support, and prayers. Now, a bountiful harvest exists… and it continues to grow!

Our Lord has chosen to make this work of spreading the Gospel a team effort. His desire is to employ each of us – according to our personal gifts and abilities – to work on the harvest of His kingdom.

Up here in the mid-west, April has been a blustery/rainy time… and if you are from Nebraska or Minnesota, the precipitation has even been in the form of snow! April hasn’t been the best time to experience the green and warm life of spring. However, those cold, rainy days of April are now working to produce a green and inviting May. We are grateful for the rain of April when we stroll through the warm and flower-filled days of spring.

All who have participated in the work of LeadaChild have been part of producing a harvest. Sometimes the work has been challenging and unnoticed. There have been sacrifices. Often the fruit is unrecognized. There are times it has felt cold and rainy… Yet God has been producing the growth!

By the power of the Holy Spirit, the planting, watering, and tilling, have produced a bountiful crop. Those of us who have come along later in the process rejoice in the work accomplished by those before us.

Still, we hear the words of Christ: “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” The burden of reaching the lost and gathering the harvest is still before us. Therefore, my fellow workers, keep up the good work! Pray, share, and get involved so that God’s great harvest is gathered…. One day, we will all be rejoicing together as one great harvest, gathered around the Lord of the Harvest!
