The Apostle Paul prompted the Thessalonians to be encouragers… probably because their fellow Christians needed to be encouraged! Those who were part of the developing church in Thessalonica experienced significant trials and challenges.

God’s gifts of fellowship – prayer, and time spent together in His Word with brothers and sisters in Christ – is a tremendous blessing; it builds one another up, providing comfort, hope, and courage to continue our service to others in the places where He has called us to serve.

My recent trip to El Salvador and Guatemala was an encouragement trip. I hadn’t spent time with our leaders and directors face-to-face since before the pandemic. The past three years were a very difficult time in these Central American countries; they experienced loneliness, financial hardships, and the loss of some family and church members. Our time together, talking about our mission and plans for the upcoming days ahead lifted us all up, inspiring us to carry on with our goal to share the love of Jesus with the children who attend our project sites.
