From The Field

Martin Luther Primary School, Bo, Sierra Leone, West Africa
The teachers and leadership in Sierra Leone are making great progress in their efforts to create a model Lutheran school that provides a quality education in a Gospel-filled environment.
My August trip focused on teacher workshops and modeling an actual classroom room experience so that we can continue to fill up their “educational tool box” with ideas and practices to promote great student learning.
We thank our friends at Memorial Lutheran School in Houston for the generous chapel offering they donated, providing desks, chairs, and new blackboards for each of the classrooms. We were also able to purchase some reading books for each grade – something that they have never had.
The next big project in Bo is the construction of a building that will house classrooms for grades 7-12, a multi-purpose room for worship and assemblies, a kitchen, and bathrooms.
Keep all the teachers and leaders in your prayers as they work to share the love of Jesus with the children of Sierra Leone through the gift of a Christian education.
